Kathleen Reed brings nearly two decades of legal experience to her role as ‘Family Law Attorney, Of Counsel’ at Johnson Law Firm.

Throughout her legal career, Kathleen has represented and advised individuals and families in family law matters, bringing a thoughtful and practical approach to helping clients navigate challenging transitions. Her background also includes experience in adoption law and extensive work advocating for children and families.

What makes Kathleen’s perspective particularly unique is the depth of experience she brings beyond the courtroom. In addition to being an attorney, Kathleen has spent decades working with children and families as an educator, administrator, consultant, and advocate. That background gives her a valuable understanding of the real-world dynamics affecting parents and children when families are navigating significant change.

Kathleen earned her Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law and was admitted to practice law in Washington in 2007. She also holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Eastern Washington University and earned her undergraduate degree and teaching credentials from the University of Washington.

Throughout her career, Kathleen has held numerous leadership positions focused on children, education, and family advocacy. She has worked with public and private schools, served in state-level educational leadership roles, and contributed to organizations dedicated to supporting children with diverse learning and developmental needs. She is also an author and has written and spoken extensively on issues affecting children and families.

Kathleen is a parent, grandparent, and former foster parent, experiences that further inform the compassion and perspective she brings to her work with families.
